#minimalism #marielamerino
there are so many distractions in today’s world including social media tv
marketing and advertising trying to get us to buy things we do not need and much more
the old phrase keeping up with the joneses is still very true today than ever before many
people thrive on materialistic possessions which i was guilty of doing two before finding minimalism
you see i used to think money would make me rich material items would make me rich but in the past
three years of becoming a minimalist i realized i have become rich without all those things
i’ve become rich by living with less and being intentional about what i bring into my life
i used to impulse shop and buy things that were just simply on sale and made me think that i was
getting a great deal when in reality the best deal when it comes to shopping is walking away
without buying anything so much energy that goes into buying things and researching online
i now choose to spend that energy on things that matter to me like experiences having a close
relationship with family and friends creating lifelong memories with those i love and creating
more time for hobbies i love materialistic people are never content with what they have
they always strive to obtain more money or wealth but life is not about stuff
when we die we are not buried with our stuff or our money no one at your funeral is going to stand
up and say how expensive your car was or what kind of shoes you wore so don’t make life about stuff
i’ve become rich by living debt-free having a tidy space which has resulted in
less stress focusing on taking care of myself mentally physically and emotionally
by detaching from my possessions and clearing the clutter from my life i’ve gotten to know
the real me through self-reflection i have been able to realize how little i need to be happy
in order to be rich you need to stop brushing and forgetting the finer things in life like spending
time with loved ones creating art giving back to your community or just simply doing what makes
you happy i have realized being rich has little to do with financial wealth and everything to do
with building a life that is full of what makes you feel alive of making space in your life
for what truly matters today’s world is filled with chaos and constant pressure of materialism
so slow down and refocus on what actually matters to you and you too will feel rich
one of the things that i love about minimalism is how unique it is to every individual
everyone has different lifestyles and experiences and values and it looks different for everyone
but i feel like there are a lot of similarities of the benefits that we all gain from minimalism
having more time in general is i think something that a lot of us
can agree on that minimalism has been able to provide for us
all that time that i used to spend shopping at the mall or browsing online to get the best deal
on something that i thought i needed now that energy is being spent on things that i actually
love doing like watering my plants or walking my dog for longer walks exercising more taking
care of myself or simply just being by myself with my thoughts and having some stillness in my life
time is really a valuable resource but many of us do not have much of it because we are working to
survive and maintain our selves our families our households another way that we all like to spend
our time is watching tv for hours or scrolling on social media for hours every single day when
that time can be used for something that’s going to actually benefit you in a more positive way
this is how minimalism has made me rich and abundant in things that i don’t think i would
have experienced if it wasn’t for minimalism and removing the distractions and removing the clutter
from my home from my life physically mentally emotionally and spiritually
i hope that you too also find
the freedom and abundance through this lifestyle so that you also feel rich
