STOP PRESS FOR TEACHERS IN JAPAN: Good news! Apparently, “a government decision has now been made to allow an exemption for distance learning classes for the 2020 academic year only. As long as copyrighted materials have bibliographic details clearly labelled (or displayed in Zoom videos), they can be used in online courses.”
“More details (Japanese only) are on the website of SARTRAS, which oversees copyright permissions for distant learning: https://sartras.or.jp/.” My thanks to Laurence Wiriamuzu for this information! (https://www.facebook.com/williams.laurence/posts/10103119281821389).
