Kloof Street Village becomes first SA COVID-19 designed dining area in Cape Town
Kloof Street Village is the first COVID-designed dining experience which opened up in Cape Town to ensure that patrons eat out stress-free in the time of COVID-19 and houses a number of dining settings. Located in Kloof Street, the stores feature screens to cordon off certain areas, while still allowing for a social vibe between socially distanced tables. Technology is used to facilitate contactless transactions and there is a large outdoor seating area for fresh-air and summer socialising. The COVID-friendly design was a collaborative effort from four South African architects & designers who worked together to create a clean, modern space that flows beautifully, with COVID-safe functions. But to tell us more we are joined via skype is Glenda Philp, Head of Strategic & Special Projects at Real Foods.

COVID-19 Coronavirus: How Philanthropy Can Respond webinar
The COVID-19 coronavirus is getting closer to being named a pandemic. Countries around the world are taking steps to prepare and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated it is not a matter of if, but when the virus will spread across the United States. Now is the time for philanthropy to begin planning how it will respond and how it will invest in actions to support their communities.
On March 5, 2020, the Center for Disaster Philanthropy hosted a webinar to discuss how philanthropy can respond and what the most likely needs will be at each stage of the pandemic.
CDP Vice President Regine Webster moderated the discussion and panelist included:
– Sheena Agarwal, Give2Asia
– Dr. Judy Monroe, CDC Foundation
– Jeff Schlegelmilch, National Center for Disaster Preparedness
The webinar was provided with generous funding from the UPS Foundation and is co-sponsored by the National Center for Family Philanthropy, Minnesota Council of Foundations, Council on Foundations, Philanthropy New York, Grantmakers in Health, Grantmakers in Aging, the Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities, Philanthropy Northwest and InterAction.

COVID-19: Nothing Weird About Helping Others :30
Wearing a mask isn’t weird. It’s how we stop the spread of #Covid19 and protect those we care about plus anyone with obesity, diabetes or other pre-existing conditions. Washing our hands often and staying 6 feet from others helps too. #HealthyTexas
