Most, if not all airlines allow one carry on bag and one personal item to fly for free. So in the spirit of becoming a minimalist traveler, I’ve decided to pack the most minimal of “personal item” bags as possible!

Although I’m not one who loves to wear jewelry every day, who doesn’t love to doll up once in a while? Becoming minimalist doesn’t mean not owning anything! A simple piece of jewelry can bring sparkle and glam to a simple outfit and make you feel beautiful on a drab day. The majority of my jewelry hold some sentimental value as I’ve purged over half of what I had over the past year.

Today we’re sharing a peek inside our minimalist kitchen. We’re also sharing some tips to help you clean, declutter and simplify your kitchen.
For most people, the kitchen is also a congregating area for the home, so decluttering, organizing and tidying up this room will naturally make you feel more at ease, calm and relaxed. And we think you’ll soon find the cleaning habits you implement in the kitchen will have a lovely way of spreading into the rest of your home. We hope you enjoy this little kitchen declutter project.

A tour of my minimalist desk & my minimal home theater! They’re combined into one system.
Aside from the minor rant about minimalism vs minimalist-styling, This video was long in the making. Trying to minimize my desk, plus my “TV area” It took some work to minimize it, make it as minimal as possible and still be functional to work from. My desk feels best without anything on top of it. It’s truly minimal! The most minimal I believe a desk can be is a tabletop and a laptop. Once you add anything else, it’s almost instantly cluttered IMO. So my goal was to add as few things as possible but still have the tools to do the job. If there was anything extra that did not serve the purpose of completing a job, such as a plant, then it was tossed. To have a minimalist Desk I believe that one has to have rigorous standards and omit the Bric-à-Brac and redundant items. THEN, you take what you need and move to step 2, which is optimizing and upgrading these items. For instance, ok, you need a desk. check, now find a desk you love and adds function or consolidates something else you need. example 2: you need audio, ok great, can you get away with just earphones, or do you want to hear in the room space? well then toss the earphones and get speakers. The idea of what I’m trying to push here is sometimes you have to BUY stuff to get rid of stuff. I know, I don’t like it either, consume so you can have less?! makes no sense. I’ll make a whole video on it soon, but for now, this was an introduction to how I got to such a modular system! Think about it, I can have just a laptop, or I plug it in and have this completely wireless system in my house! easy.
Back to the minimalist style thing, I’m just SO BORED with the minimalist-style, I really don’t like the typical, predictable, boring nature of it. There are things I just find so copy paste and not interesting or clean. I am not a fan of plants, completely white rooms (I can’t paint mine I wish I could) I don’t like that everyone thinks minimalism is supposed to be soft and comforting. I like my minimalism to be more utilitarian and functional. I love industrial styling myself, like restoration hardware style! Idk, i just see minimalist styling and yawn!
