COVID-19 Coronavirus: How Philanthropy Can Respond webinar

The COVID-19 coronavirus is getting closer to being named a pandemic. Countries around the world are taking steps to prepare and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated it is not a matter of if, but when the virus will spread across the United States. Now is the time for philanthropy to begin planning how it will respond and how it will invest in actions to support their communities.

On March 5, 2020, the Center for Disaster Philanthropy hosted a webinar to discuss how philanthropy can respond and what the most likely needs will be at each stage of the pandemic.

CDP Vice President Regine Webster moderated the discussion and panelist included:
– Sheena Agarwal, Give2Asia
– Dr. Judy Monroe, CDC Foundation
– Jeff Schlegelmilch, National Center for Disaster Preparedness

The webinar was provided with generous funding from the UPS Foundation and is co-sponsored by the National Center for Family Philanthropy, Minnesota Council of Foundations, Council on Foundations, Philanthropy New York, Grantmakers in Health, Grantmakers in Aging, the Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities, Philanthropy Northwest and InterAction.
